After the completion of Baka Square at the end of 2021, I organized all the Minecraft cores on my computer into a folder and switched to BakaXL.
BakaXL is pretty good for me, both in terms of animation and design, it suits my taste. I haven't deleted other launchers either, although I occasionally use them, but basically BakaXL has become my main launcher.
Good Stuff#
Free, Highly Personalized and Themed#
BakaXL's personalization has always been a big highlight because it has rich color schemes, a large number of community themes, and many personalized options. For example, you can install Wallpaper Engine, then enable the "Use Live Background" function in the main settings, or set a background image and enable background blur and parallax effect.
If you're lazy, you can also download community-made themes from Baka Square (mentioned later) or user groups, place them in the BakaXL/Tema folder, and then choose and apply them from the "Browse Installed BakaXL Themes" in the main settings.
Theme authors can also set background music for the "Main Settings", "Tips", and "Home" pages when packaging themes.
Extremely Fast Core Installation#
What? Do you think BakaXL downloads slowly? You're wrong!
BakaXL supports setting download sources and the number of download threads. The default number of threads is 256. With the MCBBS download source, you can easily max out your bandwidth and even install a core in just 3 seconds!
Ah? Still not fast enough? No problem! We have a big move: Launch Mode!
The number of threads in Launch Mode is 2048. In the launcher author's test video, it only takes a little over ten seconds to install an original core with Launch Mode.
Both are multi-threaded downloads, but PCL2 only supports a maximum of 256 threads.

Baka Square#
Next, one of the most important features of BakaXL: Baka Square!
In Baka Square, you can easily search, browse, and download any resources you want, including but not limited to BakaXL themes, Minecraft resource packs, modpacks, mods, and shader packs.
At the same time, the homepage of Baka Square will also display popular content in the world, as well as recommended resource packs, maps, modpacks, and mods for today. In future updates, Baka Square will also support displaying popular resources in your city.
Baka Square mixes the search results of Modrinth and CurseForge in one list, so you can see resources released only on Modrinth or CurseForge without choosing the source.
Quilt Loader Support#
BakaXL is the first launcher in China to support automatic installation and recognition of Quilt mod loader. Support for Quilt means that BakaXL fully supports the Modrinth ecosystem (because some Modrinth modpacks are already using Quilt).
BakaXL Network#
BakaXL Network! This is the most important part of the BakaXL ecosystem. It drives the friend system, lobby, and SkinShare, all of which require support from BakaXL Network.
With it, you can exchange BakaXL Network IDs with others, become friends, and always know each other's information in the game, and even entertain and show off your skin with others in the lobby.
Disable Minecraft Chat Reporting#
You may not believe it, but BakaXL supports disabling chat reporting without installing any mods!
In "Main Settings" - "Accounts and Profiles", select your Microsoft genuine profile, and enable "Join BakaXL Network SkinShare" to disable chat reporting!
